"You're entering a world of pain."

Rather unoriginally, I am a big fan of The Big Lebowski. One of the questions I often think about while watching the movie is, how does John Goodman manage to make Walter a sympathetic character? It's not just that he is extremely mean-spirited in his dealings with Donny; he whips out a gun in a bowling alley, for Chrissakes! And yet no one ever seems to hold it against him. I was reminded of this by this story of a man engaging in similar behavior at a golf course. He was arrested, of course.
